Marva – Law, Welfare, and Empowerment is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and protecting the safety, dignity, and freedom of individuals facing challenges in meeting their basic life needs.

We're making the law more accessible to those who need it most
MARVA provides legal aid and welfare supports for vulnerable sectors of Israeli society in order to help struggling individuals to reclaim a life of dignity and independence.

WHAT WE DO

Marva stands beside society’s most vulnerable. We provide support for at-risk older adults facing abuse, neglect, or self-neglect; individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia; people coping with mental health challenges and their families; people with disabilities; and those impacted by wars and acts of terrorism.

Through an integrated approach that combines legal expertise with social welfare services, Marva ensures that individuals and families receive the protection and care they deserve. All of our legal services are offered completely free of charge to individuals and families in need.

MARVA runs two programs in the field of mental health:

  • Legal advice for people seeking to realize their rights to autonomy. The program includes access to legal planning vehicles such as power of attorney, documents of intent, supported decision making, and others.
  • Legal guidance, workshops, and lectures for individuals and families dealing with mental health concerns.
