Marva – Law, Welfare, and Empowerment develop and leads training programs that raise awareness and provide knowledge on law, welfare, and the protection of at-risk populations. These include older adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or self-neglect; people with disabilities, particularly those coping with mental illness; individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementia; war survivors; and more.
Founded by legal and social work experts, Marva builds a unique body of knowledge in legal-therapeutic interventions and therapeutic jurisprudence, emphasizing multidisciplinary approaches to safeguarding the rights, independence, and well-being of vulnerable populations.
The Marva team delivers lectures and training sessions across Israel and online, in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and English. Programs are tailored for welfare and health authorities, civil society organizations, professionals in law, medicine, and care, students, and the general public.
Training covers a broad range of topics, including:
- Rights of older adults and people with disabilities
- Legal capacity, guardianship, and alternatives, such as power of attorney, advance directives, and supported decision-making
- Protection against abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation
All programs integrate legal and therapeutic perspectives, highlighting the importance of dignity, safety, and independence for these populations.
