Aging and longevity bring opportunities for continued growth and a meaningful life. However, they can also lead to functional declines—physical, sensory, and cognitive—that may impact an older adult’s quality of life and well-being. This decline can also expose older adults to serious risks such as abuse, neglect, and self-neglect. Language barriers, limited accessibility, and lack of knowledge or support may further prevent older adults from recognizing and exercising their rights.

Marva operates on the principle that adequate support for older adults requires a multidisciplinary approach—legal, therapeutic, and medical. To this end, we collaborate with professionals and welfare services across dozens of local authorities nationwide. Our work includes participation in multidisciplinary teams, providing individual counseling to older adults, training professionals who work with older adults, and offering workshops and lectures for older adults, family caregivers, and professionals in various fields. Areas of focus include protection laws, guardianship, legal planning tools, supported decision-making, advocacy for seniors’ rights through policy change efforts, and more.
